This past weekend I was able to get back in the sewing/craft room a little bit. My, oh my, do I miss it when I can’t make something with my hands. It’s a definite stress relief for me.
I saw this raw edge scarf tutorial over at Cluck Cluck Sew last fall and finally had time to do something with it. I made two scarves. I think next time I’ll make them a little longer but am loving them and they are oh, so very easy. Unbelievable.
Another quick project I was able to get to was this blanket. My cousin’s daughter is having a baby and is doing the nursery in a tan and cream safari theme. How cute of an idea is that? They chose not to find out the if it’s a boy or girl ahead of time so I wanted something that would work for either. I think this print will fit in with a safari theme just fine.
Neither of these projects were a major undertaking but it sure is fun to do something again.
Sometimes this guy …
is full of surprises. (He’ll be so happy with me that I posted his picture. NOT! )
These were delivered to work today. Flowers are a real treat as it’s not something he/we do very often. I’m not a wife that expects them for Valentines Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc so they are always a unexpected treat when I do receive them. I really didn’t expect any this year as Friday we took my wedding set to the jewelers for an overhaul.
Aren’t they beautiful? And fun spring colors? Do you think he knows how sick of winter I am and that I needed something perky? You can keep your red roses, give me bright and cheery any day. He’s an alright kind of guy, I think I’ll keep him!
Those are beautiful flowers, but not something to laugh about. Ha! Love the sign below them.
ReplyDeleteYou are a lucky girl!
How wonderful!! What a special treat for you today!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that you have a good picture of your husband with a quilt for the background is double bonus points!!
The flowers do look like a touch of spring!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look wonderful, and so does the runner you have them sitting on. I think you should keep him too. =o)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

I'm pretty much in love with and will accept any kind of flowers. Roses are my favorite, but they ALL make me smile from ear to ear. Yours are gorgeous. What a lovely surprise he gave you.

A refreshing escape from the common rose bouquet> I like it. You are so creative! Those scarves are very nice. I could learn to like scarves like that. I've never seen anyone choose that decor for a baby's room. Again, an escape from the same ol. Good post! have a good week, Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love that he sent you flowers....I don't think men always realize how much we appreciate them, especially at this time of year. And I love the scarves - I want to make some. What kind of fabric did you use? blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteHi Lori. Those are beautiful flowers...very reminiscent of Spring!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about "needing" to do some sort of craft. It's a soul-filling thing I think. Your three projects are great! They may just help get me motivated today. :)
I love the scarves...especially the red one!
ReplyDeleteThose scares are so cute! They turned out great!
