He’s 29? How did that happen?

Our first born son, our oldest child is a year older today, or more specifically at 7:10 pm today is 29 years old!  How did that happen?
Lucas Daniel weighed in at 8 lbs. 10-1/2 ounces and altered our world forever with his arrival.  The summer I was pregnant with Luke was one of the hottest summers I can remember or maybe  it just seemed that way as I felt big as a barn most of the summer.   Luke didn’t hurry into this world.  He was three weeks late in arriving and still is a pretty laid back kind of guy.  

3 months old

He was such a happy baby.  He slept through the night at 2 months old.  I remember his first ear infection very well.  He woke up screaming in the middle of the night at 5 months old and I didn’t quite know what to do with him as we hadn’t experienced that yet.  It scared us all to pieces.  
This little guy was interested in tractors and machines from the time he could crawl and knew what he wanted.  He was constantly on the floor or in the sandbox “farming”.  And if he wasn’t farming he would sit for hours reading his Dad’s Prairie Farmer magazine.  Instead of stuffed animals he would take his toy tractors to bed with him at night.

Some things never change.  He may be older and married now but he’s still our “farm kid.”  He works his tail off as a service technician for an agricultural sprayer company and farms during off time with his Minneapolis Moline tractors.  

Luke is a hard working, easy going, funny, likeable guy that we couldn’t be prouder of.
