I'm hoping one or some of you folks who sew/quilt can help me out on this...
Do any of you use a Viking Husqvarna 400 machine?
If you do, what is your opinion on it?
Anything to watch out for? or are you happy with it?
I stopped in at our local sewing machine dealer the other day to pick up a new walking foot and he had a used one that I really liked so am looking for any input I can get. Thanks in advance.
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone who has a viking that does not love it. I even had a couple. One, I bought brand new, but since you know what a 'junker' I am, I felt so guilty spending so much money, that I took my losses and sold it on eBay. There was nothing wrong with it, the only thing wrong was me.
I have seen many sewing machines come and go, but I think I have finally settled down on what I have (of the modern machines).
The one most important thing to think about in a sewing machine purchase, is what you plan on doing with it. You should be able to find reviews of what people think by searching the internet, or maybe someone who reads your blog will have the answers. I just say, if it makes you happy, buy it. That's what I do. You deserve it!
be blessed,
Michelle
You asked about the Viking 400....I am not familiar with that number. I have a Viking 445 Lily. When I purchased it 9 years ago, it was being presented as a quilter's machine. I have been quite happy with it. I have always had Vikings lower end machines. This one is slightly more than lower end. Viking makes a sturdy machine. Rarely have had a problem with it...a bobbin winder replacement once. The Lily does have some decorative stitches that I am not terribly impressed with, but I didn't buy it for that. Be sure to try it out extensively. Put it through the paces that you would want it to do on YOUR fabric, using your thread. Don't be in a hurry. Does it have the bells and whistles that you want? check it out carefully for those types of things.
ReplyDeleteHope you find what you want!
