A Finish and new beginnings

Remember way back last summer when I posted about making a bargello quilt?  Here and here?  Well, I finally finished it!

and this little one?  she’s all but finished with this crawling stuff.  She’s upright and making good time.

She’ll be one in a couple of weeks and just as adorable as ever!  And to not brag on just one grand, the other two are a whole heckuva lot of fun as well!

Ya, I know, this has nothing to do with new beginnings, but what’s a post without grandkids once in awhile. Smile

It is beginning to look a lot like Spring around here.  Due to our unseasonably warm month of March, everything seems to be about a month ahead of schedule.  These Quince bushes don’t typically bloom until late April.

I personally have also had a finish and new beginning.

Friday was my last day at the college where I’ve worked for the past 14 years.  It was a bittersweet day for sure.  It’s hard to keep it together when these big guys hug you, say they love you and are going to miss you.  Sad smile

Why did I leave you might ask?  I’ve been getting an itch to make a change for the last 2 – 3 years.  I’ve never been able to put my finger on why as I worked with great people, had a Christian boss, flexibility, etc. so had no reason to want to change.  I never really went looking for anything but was very unsettled and knew in my knower that something else was coming down the pike at some point.  I’m pretty sure I wrote a post about it on here about a year ago (but couldn’t find it).

While we were in Alabama on mission, I received a call from our church’s campus pastor.  We’re a multi-site church, so we have a senior pastor who is typically the one who preaches and then each location has a campus pastor.  If you want to read about our church, you can check it out here.  You can even listen to messages online there.

Pastor Glen asked if I might be interested in coming to work for the church?  I prayed and thought about it and after some back and forth questions and answers with Pastor, I accepted the position.  Just maybe this was why God was unsettling me in my position at the college, so I would be ready to make this jump when the time came.  I firmly believe so.

So, today was my first day!  And as first days go, it went really well. Smile  However, if everything that got dumped in my brain today comes out in correct format, it truly will be a God-given miracle!

Hope your Spring is off to a great beginning as well!
