What a beautiful yesterday here in the mountains. After church we went to Cades Cove for a picnic, then took a jeep ride through the cove loop driving tour.
On the way to the Cove. As you can see the trees down here are just starting to turn.

Linda & I in the back of the jeep riding through the cove. It's an 11 mile loop but it took us almost 2 hours. The speed limit is 10 mph and there are many times, you are at a total stop.

This picture, my friends, is what they call a "buck jam".
There is alot of wildlife in the cove; deer, fox, coyote, bear, turkeys, etc. We were hoping to see bear, but no luck.
Cars come to a complete stop when they spot an animal. In this picture, someone up ahead saw a buck deer. I guess it's all in perspective. Back home we really don't want to see deer by the road no matter how slow you are going!
I can't think of a better way to spend a warm Fall Sunday, than in the mountains.
Looks like a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon to me too!
ReplyDeleteOh, those pictures looked wonderful! You looked like you were having so much fun, and your friends looked like they were enjoying your company too.
ReplyDeleteDrive safely on your way home.

You really know how to make a person drool.... Glad you had a great time!!
ReplyDeleteCades Cove is my favorite place on earth (well except for home!) My mom & dad live in Maryville and I always have to take a Cades Cove drive when I visit. How blessed you are to live in such an amazing place!
